What is Cerebral hypoxia? This is a question many ask when they meet this term.
Cerebral hypoxia is a state that occurs when there less oxygen than is needed getting to the brain. Oxygen is part of what the brain needs to function well. The brain needs a continuous supply of oxygen and other nutrients to function.
Cerebral hypoxia will occur if the brain cells suffer oxygen deprivation. It is believed that brain cells can live for about 4 minutes without oxygen after which they begin to die. When this occurs then one is believed to suffer from Cerebral hypoxia.
World Health Organisation information on Cerebral Hypoxia
It is believed that one in every 300 children born will have cerebral palsy. My prayer is God will divinely intervene and stop this trend.

Known possible causes of cerebral palsy of which Cerebral Hypoxia is one of them include:
The following was presented in an articles from International Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease by Doctors from St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin , Ireland
The article indicated that alveolar hypoxia and consequent hypoxemia increase in prevalence as Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) severity increases. The article continued to indicate that Chronic hypoxemia contributes to the development of adverse sequelae of COPD, such as pulmonary hypertension, secondary polycythemia, skeletal muscle dysfunction, and systemic inflammation.
As part of the conclusion, the article indicates that these comorbidities reduce quality of life in COPD patients, and predispose them to acute exacerbations, cardiovascular morbidity, and increased risk of death. Supplemental oxygen therapy improves quality of life and survival in selected cases. However, its role in patients with moderate hypoxia, or isolated exertional or nocturnal hypoxia, remains unclear.
